MAINTENANCE

Here are some natural suggestions for keeping your tile and other surfaces clean.

SoftScrub Alternative - Earth Paste

This is a homemade alternative to a product like SoftScrub - without the nasty chemicals. It does a great job of cleaning when you need an abrasive solution. Note - not meant for glass.

In a bowl put: 1 2/3 cup of baking soda + 1/2 cup of your favorite castile soap + 2 tbsp filtered water.
Mix w/a fork until smooth.
Then add 2 tbsp of vinegar (the mixture will bubble).
If you want, you can scent this with a few drops of essential oil - I don't usually because I use lavender-scented castile soap.
Mix everything until smooth, and then scoop into an airtight Rubbermaid container or jar. The consistency should be like a thick paste.

Wipe or Squeegee After Showers

After every shower squeegee the walls or wipe with a towel. Removing soap residue is a simple way to add years to the life of your tile and grout. And it quickly becomes habit.

All-Purpose Natural Cleaner

A 50/50 solution of vinegar and water is all you need to clean most surfaces.
